About Me

My photo
I have recovered from the disease of Alcoholism. I believe there is only one person really,.. everybody. And that peace of mind is everything. -So treat your neighbor as you would treat yourself, because your neighbor IS yourself. I think most of recovery is what I would call common sense, but that learning to be ordinary is a true gift very few people acquire. My ambition is to accept everything unflinchingly, with compassion, and therefore be intrinsically comfortable in my own skin, no matter what. I am comfortable being uncomfortable and am willing to go to any lengths to improve my life. I believe the Big Book was divinely inspired, and is extraordinarily powerful. Unfortunately AA's best kept secret a lot of the time. (In my opinion). I just try to do what works, no matter what it is.

Scary exams at 10am on the 14th and 21st May. Wish me luck!

Hey I KNOW its a high class problem and I know a MILLION other things everyone else is dealing with that are !!!! LOADS worse than this, but this is my current little opportunity to make myself stressed.
My flower remedies and essential oils are of great help I have to say.
I use incense, crystals, essential oils, sprays. Hahaaaha. Funny. Its AGES since I've dug out some of those old remedies. They're GREAT.

Peppermint, Black pepper, and Thyme are ! GREAT for physical, emotional and mental energy. The mind just never seems to get fatigued. Perhaps it will later? Who knows. So far its been great.
Vetiver/ lavender combo are GREAT for chilling.
And the occasional chamomile roman works a treat! Seems to just wipe out stress altogether. Rose is great too but its an indulgence.
I use them in oil burners in the main. But I digress. The only decent supplier is Fragrant earth in Glastonbury. Patricia Davis (author) is the essential oil guru.
Ipods algerian coffee and all my mad hippy remedies are a TOTAL boon with this stuff. But there you go.

So, see you back here after the 21st! When I can ! relax a bit, and get back to my normal routine. (for a while hopefully). I can't wait to pamper myself and get back to 'proper' gym. Hope you are all well and doing good in the meantime!

Good luck and enjoy your oils and remedies. I love thyme and chamomile. Rosemary and lavender too. Never tried black pepper - sounds good, but might make me hungry!

Best wishes for you on your exams!

I miss your posts; however, I understand all too well the stress of big exams. Good luck to you and with your great mind, I can't imagine that you would do other than well on the exams.

I have a nice herb garden and put rosemary in the linen closet. I have always liked incense (going back to college days for that) so I burn it frequently.

My BF mom is really into the essential oils. She has a book of oil recipes. She will choose them over medicine anytime.

Well we shall see u when you get back.

Thanks for your feedback on Step 3. Good stuff as your thoughts usually are!

Good luck with the exam.

I have half a memory that you once said you worked or lived around Moorgate. I was there earlier and thought of you as I got soaked to the skin, again!

Very best of luck for Monday.

Thanks for helping me stay sober another day.

How was the exam? I hope it went well.

You use crystals and incense and such. Lucky Strike and strong coffee work for me. Lol.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments! Actually on reflection, I think I didn't answer what 2 of the 4 questions were asking which means I might have to resit it in September, but as I haven't done any exams in a LONG time, I'm not being too hard on myself. We shall see what the mark is in july I think. But I've submitted essays as well, so the exam only counts for part of the overall mark. Academic stuff is difficult!! If I can do it, ANYONE can. I reckon everyone in aa ought to go out and get themselves some degree or other! I'm a born again student! I've just been doing it on the 'showing up' premise, not really expecting it to 'work'. It comes as a huge surprise to find that I manage it at all. I tend to always assume I am a bit crap at things, and that everyone else knows better than me. Especially the ones who look 'together' or confident. I'm used to wearing my heart on my sleeve and confessing my weaknesses to all and sundry, so I never have the illusion of infallibility, or complacency. I know its wrong to have an inferior view of myself in comparison to my peers, but its just my default perception. Most of my perceptions are wrong, and this one is no exception. But it is very persistent! I think its the nature of learning new stuff that you are aware of your lack of competence. Just goes with the territory!
Right. I've got to go and do some stuff! See y'all..

Well my sweethearts mom is a strong believer in essential oils. She is forever suggesting certain formulas we use when we get ill (cramps, injury, emotionally, etc). I think it is quite noble of her to beleive in them, in the healing they have to offer. We must remain open, I keep reminding myself of this.

Well I look forward to an update from you. I hope this finds you well.
